- Curator's comments
- Part of a Passion series, consisting of 28 cuts (all extant at the BM). Most of the cuts have MS. on the verso. The provenance of the series is not known of beyond that they were preserved in the Bindon Blood Library, second portion, before being acquired by the BM.
The date of production is ascertained due to the inscription on the third plate of the series (Schreiber 174).
Dodgson notes that the cuts presumably had been produced in Cologne. Furthermore he stresses the fact that the cuts were printed on vellum, which indicates that they were not merely inserted into the MS., rather they were designed for the volume before the text was written.
