- The first in a series of eight etchings, sewn into the original wrappers. The front wrapper is lettered with the series title, continuing 'by Julius Ibbetson, Inscribed by Permsision to Benjamin West, Esq. President of the Royal Academy. / Price to Subscribers ----- 20s. / Non-Subscribers ---- £1. 4s.'. On the inside of the front wrapper is a list of subscribers to this series and another of subscribers to 'Ibbetson's Etchings of Cattle.'
The plates are printed two to a sheet; the majority are dated 1816, between May and August.
