After the 1710 painting by Adriaen van der Werff in the Mauritshuis, The Hague, inv.no.209; see Barbara Gaehtgens, 'Adriaen van der Werff 1659-1722', Munich, 1987, cat.no.74. It was painted on the occasion of the eightteenth brithday of the artist's daughter Maria.
