In the sanctuary at Westminster, a confrontation between Elizabeth, queen of Edward IV, who, standing at the centre to left, puts her hands protectively around her young son Richard, Duke of York, and Cardinal Thomas Bourchier, standing angrily opposite her at right; behind the cardinal, clerics, other men and a boy looking anxious, behind the queen, worried women and a young girl, monks looking on from a staircase behind; after the cartoon by Bell submitted to the Westminster Hall exhibition of 1843. 1847
