Deschars as Pulcinella (1st September, 1692), from a series of eight drawings of Commedia dell'Arte characters, possibly studies for, but more probably copies of a series of anonymous engravings after Berain; whole-length dancing in profile to left, on a terrace, wearing a feathered hat, mask with hooked nose and glasses, ruff, doublet with large buttons, breeches with long cannons and a short cloak, in the background a garden with trees, clipped hedge and figures
Pen and brown ink and grey wash, over graphite; indented for transfer
