- Curator's comments
- The statue currenlty has an antique, but alien head, with only the upper arms and without the upper parts of the garment and is now in the Uffizi in Florence (inv. no. 155). The base, the feet, the lower part of the garment and parts of the neck and face are modern additions. This is a Roman copy, representing a variant of a standing, partly draped Aphrodite. The etching, which is in reverse, was made after a drawing by Poelenburgh, but neither these, nor any intermediary drawings by De Bisschop have been traced. The statue is not included in the list of contents and locations, which means he did not know where it was.
