- The present whereabouts, size and state of the statue are unknown. De Bisschop was both the draughtsman as the engraver of this etching. Three studies by him of the same Aphrodite, all in reverse to the etchings, have survived. One of them in the Fondation Custodia in Paris (Frits Lugt collection inv. no. I 6676), a second in the Album in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (inv. no. Dyce 1212.10-1889) and a third also in the Victoria and Albert in a three-quarter rear view of the statue, which was not used for the 'Icones' (inv. no. Dyce 1212.11-1889). In his list of contents and locations de Bisschop mentiones that the sculpture in his time, was in the collection of the Amsterdam painter and art-dealer Gerrit Uylenburgh. The statue was depicted from two different angles, each on separate plate. For the two plates see: 1850, 0810.732-733.
