Giacomo Filippo Foresti da Bergamo, "De plurimis claris seletis que mulieribus opus prope divinum novissime conge stum" (Ferrara, Laurentius de Rubeis) incunable from 1497, containing the biographies of 194 mythological, historical and religious women, an update of Boccaccio's "De claris mulieribus" (1361) edited by Albertus de Placentia and Augustinus de Casali Maiori. It includes: 3 full-page illustrations each framed by an ornamental border, the first one depicting the author offering his book to Beatrice of Aragon; 170 vignettes, some printed from the same blocks, depicting the portraits of each woman; vine-initials; a title-page in Gothic font; in blue leather binding with gilt-tooled ornamental motif.
