From Drawings Made on the Spot" (London, John Murray) 1849; containing 100 plates representing ancient Assyrian sculptures and bas-reliefs, bound with chromolithographic titlepage, letterpress titlepage, dedication, introduction, list of illustrations, and description of the plates. Plate 2, representing an imaginary restoration of an Assyrian palace, and Plates 84-87, showing painted bricks, ornaments, and glazed pottery from Nimrud, are chromolithographs. Plates 89-90, depicting ivory fragments, are hand-coloured wood-engravings. Plate 100 contains plans of buildings excavated at Nimrud and Kouyunjik.
