- A pocket book illustrating the antiquities of Herculaneum, with some essays on the sculpture and painting of the ancients, and with a short description of some of the antiquities in the surroundings of Naples. The first excavations in Herculaneum were made in 1738, and Charles Nicolas Cochin and Bellicart visited Italy in 1750, accompanied by Soufflot and by the Marquis de Marigny. The illustrations are based on the sketches done by Pierre Bardet in 1743.
