Curator's comments
Finberg notes that this was not claimed by Turner as his work in the lettering of the plate, and Rawlinson describes it as being drawn by Turner and engraved by Dawe; Finberg suggests that Dawe also etched the plate; Turner's drawing for this plate is in the National Gallery.
