The storm, after Vernet: a British three-masted ship keeling to the right in a heavy swell, near a rocky shore with a lighthouse, fort and town to right, while a small boat crowded with people, waves crashing over her stern, struggles to reach the shore where men are waiting, bringing pieces of wood to fend her off the rocks, in the right foreground; unfinished state, most edges of the clouds filled in. 1820
