- Series: Jerusalem: The Emanation of The Giant Albion
Copy A, plate 6; in the lower section Los, nude, is in his blacksmith's shop, apparently pausing in his labours; he holds a hammer; around him are chained bellows, an anvil and a furnace; Los looks up at his spectre who hovers above him: the spectre is a bat-winged form with visibly human head and arms; in the upper section, 14 lines of text beginning "His Spectre driv'n by the Starry Wheels..."; smoke and flames dominate the plate, becoming abstracted designs between the lines of verse. 1804-1821

- Curator's comments
- For commentary on the series "Jerusalem: The Emanation of The Giant Albion" see 1847,0318.93.1.
The form of Albion's spectre is similar to Vala in plate 25, 1847,0318.93.25, and other (often sinister) figures who have this posture in Blake's prints.
