On this plate, the main illustration is entirely in white-line etching; text and marginal decoration are relief-etched.
The illustration of the figures who embrace in a lily flower is one of the designs that inspired the pictorial binding for the second edition of Alexander Gilchrist, Life of William Blake (London: Macmillan, 1880). The binding was designed by Frederick Shields with the advice of Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
