Venus; the goddess in the sky identified by an inscription: 'VENERE' riding a chariot drawn by a pair of doves; the wheels of the chariot with signs of the zodiac inscribed: 'TORO' and 'BILANCE'; a blindfolded Cupid shoots arrows earthwards; below the various occupations and enjoyments of love: lovers are shown dancing, playing music, eating, bathing, riding; on the frieze of the palace on the left the inscription: 'ONNIA VINCIT AMOR'. c.1464.

- This print belongs to the so-called 'original' series of 'Planets', a group of engravings created probably around 1464 in a style called by Hind 'Fine Manner'. For this group see the entry for Hind A.III.1a (1845-8-25-474).
As Hind noted, the couple dancing in the centre and the bathers on the cart should be compared with similar figures in some of the so-called 'Otto Prints' (Hind, A.IV.13, 18, 12). The Cupid corresponds to one in the 'Triumph of Love' in the 'Vienna Triumphs of Petrarch' (Hind, A.I.18).
