- Part of a Passion series, consisting of 12 sheet (L 6-17).
The engravings are known in three states, and the first state refers to impressions of the plates prior to the retouches by the monogrammist "$".
The second state includes these retouches, but does not include the monogram. On the verso of the sheets is German text, as some of the plates were used for two editions (1629, 1631) of a book: "Historia Von dem Bittern leiden sterben und frewdenreichen Aufferstehung unsers hochverdienten erlösers und haillands Jesu Christi..." (copy in the BL 3832 b. 47).
The third state was retouched completely, with addition of the monogram "$", dating from after the publication of the book mentioned above in 1631.
