Four uncut sheets with four playing-cards on each sheet. Two of the sheets contain four knaves each, the knaves of spades and clubs on one sheet, and those of hearts and diamonds on the other. Two of the sheets contain pip cards, the 4, 5, 7 and 9 of diamonds on one sheet, and the 4, 5, 8 and 10 of hearts on the other. According to John Berry, "The legend Valery F. on the Jack of Hearts is now thought to indicate the card-maker Valery Faucil, whose widow Catherine was mentioned in Rouen in 1516 as having seized some 'fausses' cards."
