In this impression, the artist's line and verses from the first state have been erased (or stopped out), with traces still remaining (Paulson's second state). The present print was once mounted with a letterpress slip that is still kept with it; Paulson describes (p. 73) other impressions in which the lettering has been erased or stopped out and this same slip pasted over the caption area, in the Royal Library, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, and the Lewis Walpole collection at Yale; there is also one in the Clarke collection at Worcester College, Oxford. The slip is titled 'King Henry VIII. bringing to Court Anna Bullen, who was afterwards his royal consort.' and lettered with artist's line, sixteen lines of verse credited to Allan Ramsay, and publication line: 'Printed and sold by Phil. Overton near St. Dunstan's Church, Fleetstreet; and Allan Ramsay in Edinburgh. MDCCXXIX.'
