The calumny of Apelles: the judge with the ears of an ass, sits left in an open piazza, his councillors Suspicion (Sospitione) and Ignorance (Ignorantia) stand on either side; Envy (Invidia), an old hag with ass's ears, presents to him Calumny (Calumnia dapele), a young woman wearing a crown, who holds a torch and drags Innocence (Innocentia) by the hair; she is followed by her handmaids, Fraud (Adiptione) and Treachery (Insidia) who are tying her hair, while Repentance (Penitentia) turns towards Truth (Verita), who points up with her hand.

- 1842,0806.1 to 321 were all purchased from W & G Smith, who had acquired the collection of Joseph Harding, from whom they all came. The acquisition was recommended to the Trustees by Josi on 31 March and 29 April 1841, but only purchased in 1842.
