Plaquette; pentagonal fragment of stone broken on at least four sides before decoration: engraved on one side alone with a palimpsest of cervids. First there is a complete reindeer, with its head raised, facing right. Its feet are gathered together, as if cantering, and fitted into a projection on the contour of the stone. Coinciding with these feet and at right angles to the first firgure are two further reindeer, superimposed; both are incomplete and face right. The larger of these probably never had a complete head and while the shape of one front hoof depends on the adjacent break in the stone, its body could have once been longer. This break is problematic, since, if it was made previous to decoration one must accept the half-body as intended in this form. The third figure is unfinished; it shares the throat ruff of the second and has a head but apparently no antlers.
