- Description

Engraved rib refitted from two pieces and with ancient tongued breaks at both ends and flat section. On the upper surface there are three reindeer heads and an ibex head all facing left. The reindeer on the left has antlers and the face with a clear eye is shaded by small dots. To the right of this the ibex head is set back. Its horn, ear, eye and beard are accurately depicted and the fine striations on the face and neck indicate the hairy pelt. The central reindeer has clear antlers and its face and neck are carefully shaded with fine striations. On the right end the reindeer head is held up and the mouth is open as if it is braying. It has no antlers and only the top line behind the nose is shaded with fine striations. The opposite surface has been reduced by scraping and polishing. These portrait heads are engraved into a polished surface.
