Lead alloy, hollow pilgrim badge representing a decorated sword-sheath superimposed with a coat-of-arms. The decoration of both sides of the sheath consists of various patterns, including hatching, triangles, bosses and roundels, beading, foliate motifs, and dotting. The sword terminates with a knop. The shield is positioned across the upper third of the sheath is decorated with a background pattern diamonds containing dots and roundels. Each half of the shield displays two representations of an open-mouthed bear's head in profile, associating it with one of St Thomas Becket's murderers, Reginald Fitz Urse and therefore Thomas's shrine at Canterbury.
