Double-drum brooch: (‘Doppelpaukenfibel’; Mansfield, G., 1973, ‘Die Fibeln der Heunburg 1950-1970’ (Römisch-Germanisch Forschungen, 33), Berlin, 30-37, form dP).
2. Form dP4, the classic double-drum form with the domed bow matched by a similar foot. Two-piece construction. Hallstatt D2/3 and D3 at the Heuneburg; cf. Les Jogasses graves 60, 95 and 108.

Hallstatt D brooches were small and light. They often had drum-like ornaments on the bow. The spring mechanisms on these brooches were prone to failure.
