Brooch with decorated foot: (‘Fusszierfibel’: Mansfield, G., 1973, ‘Die Fibeln der Heunburg 1950-1970’ (Römisch-Germanisch Forschungen, 33), Berlin, 37-43, form F).
1. Form F2 (Fig. 1, type F), with foot decoration A1 (a simple spherical element), made in three pieces: (a) the foot and bow terminating in a perforated lug (cf. ML.2131); (b) a bar that passes through the perforation; (c) a separate spring, wound round the bar, with internal chord (for the construction see Mansfeld 1973, fig. 8, form z). Hallstatt D2/ D3 at the Heuneburg (ibid.). It occurs in grave groups at Charvais, graves 44, and in the earlier stage of the Les Jogasses cemetery - especially graves 19 and 34, and also graves 6, 31, 38 and 145.
