Context: La Tène I brooches
12. Small brooch with the foot about as long as the bow. Four-or six-coil spring with external chord (Fig. 2, type g). La Tène Ic: at Münsingen there are versions of this brooch in Phases M-T (La Tène Ic late and La Tène Ic/II). In Champagne it occurs in grave groups at Beine 'Bouverets' grave 22, Gourgançon 'les Poplainnaux' grave 2, Liry grave 4, Normée grave 2, St-Benôit-sur-Seine grave 42 and Villesneux grave 2; others from Jonchery-sur-Vesle (Charpy, J.-J., and Roualet, P., 1991, ‘Les Celtes en Champagne’ (exh. cat., Epernay, 23/6 - 3/11/1991), no. 172) and Somme-Suippe (Thénot, A, 1982, ‘La civilisation celtique dans l’est de la France, d’après la collection de Baye’, Paris, pl. 38, 8 and pl. 39, 2).
