7. The Dux brooch and its variants. La Tène Ib.
(a) A long, low, decorated bow with near-vertical sides, triangular foot-space, globular element and six-coil spring with internal chord. This is the Dux brooch as defined by Kruta, V., 1971, ‘Le trésor de Duchcov’, Ustí nad Labem, 23, the most common of the brooches found at Duchcov (type I, 195 examples); see Kruta, V., 1973, Remarques sur les fibulas de la touvaille de Douchcov (Dux), Bohême in P.-M. Duval, ed., ‘Recherches d’archéologie celtique et gallo-romaine’, 1973, 21-35 (Fig. 1, type U). For examples in grave groups in Champagne see Beine ‘l’Argentelle’ graves 6 and 25, Beine ‘le Montéqueux’ grave 1, Caurel ‘la Fosse Minore’ grave 46, Les Grandes Loges graves 9 and 57, Hauviné grave l, Lavannes ‘Mont de la Fourche’ grave 10, Pierre-Morains graves 3 and 5, and Villesneux grave 4.
