A woman's blouse, every day wear. Raglan-sleeved; embroidered, and made from natural cream tabby cotton cloth (cheesecloth). Smocking draws in fabric to make rounded neckline, finished with blanket stitch, embroidered in red cotton thread. Below neck opening a double vertical line of embroidered flower buds (?), framed by wider vertical panels with linked floral motifs. Fastened with red plied cotton ties with tassel at end. Rectangular embroidered panel on upper sleeve and vertical panel on outer sleeve; embroidered in same patterning and with same materials as bodice. Back has three lines of four 'X' motifs (crosses). All seams joined with openwork stitch (faggoting). A little staining.
