A woman's blouse; embroidered, with large, long sleeves. Bodice made from natural cream tabby woven cotton cloth. Front and back of bodice and top of sleeves finely pleated and stitched onto narrow neck band. Centre front opening fastened with three pairs of metal press studs and a metal hook and eye. Sleeves, made from natural cream tabby woven linen (?) cloth, set in at right angles and gathered at wrist. A large decorative panel, covering most of sleeve, is surrounded by isolated floral motifs; worked in supplementary weft using red woollen thread. Bobbin lace trimming at sleeve end, worked in white cotton thread. Transfer of red dye in embroidery threads to surrounding ground.
