- Description
-
A bed-cover, large and rectangular; made from a pale yellow and black patterned cloth. Made from three loom widths of fabric, which has a large geometric pattern, including hexagons, tabby woven with floats (a large-scale overshot pattern). Each piece is joined along the selvedges, using black wool and yellow jute (?). The cover is lined with a yellow tabby woven fabric, also made of three loom widths. (A small section of this fabric is visible on one of the long sides on the front.) The warp ends (short selvedge) are turned and sewn, but not sewn up. The opposite end has tufts of wool sewn in three places along the selvedge and at the corners: red, black, lilac, green. This edge has sustained some damage. One selvedge has cotton curtain tracking sewn along its length indicating a later use.
