A woman's shirt / chemise; calf length and waisted. Long sleeves, with a gathered neckline. Made of natural cream-coloured tabby woven cotton cloth (cheesecloth); seams machine stitched. Four vertical embroidered panels below rounded neckline: floral motifs (tulips?) with foliage, machine (?) embroidered in red cotton with gold-coloured plastic (?) thread and small gold-coloured metal (?) sequins, stitched with yellow cotton thread; a scrolled pattern on neckband. A large, rectangular panel of identical embroidery on upper sleeve with four vertical panels below. Small cuff (double thickness) has tree-of-life patterning. Straight skirt with attached 10 cms flounce. A band of embroidery, as before. All seams in upper section and flounce joined together with crochet using red cotton yarn.
