A man's shirt; knee-length. Made of natural cream tabby woven cotton cloth; commercially produced. Five full weaving widths [35 cms]; machine stitched. Identical vertical commercial cut work and embroidery panels worked in white cotton (with synthetic) yarns either side of centre front opening; two vertical machine sewn pin tucks on either side. Top of bodice tightly gathered onto wide collar. Neckline fastened with five round cream plastic buttons. Yoke (in two parts). Diamond-shaped gusset under arm. Sleeves set in at right angles. Tightly gathered at mid centre top - diagonal patterning embroidered over pleating - and onto embroidered cuff (double thickness). Each cuff fastened with two round cream plastic buttons and loops (one missing on left, as worn). Repeat of cut work at neckline along hemline [6 cms deep].
