A woman's plastron / bib, rectangular in shape and made from natural cream tabby woven cotton cloth. Identical solid counted thread embroidery worked either side of central opening. A line of large diamonds, worked on the diagonal, each containing four smaller diamonds, embroidered with predominantly red (with some black) wool yarn, with the addition of yellow cotton and white silk thread. (Four diamonds at the bottom are the ground cloth.) A separate strip of embroidered cloth with different patterning applied to wide stand-up collar, also with the theme of diamonds within diamonds: predominantly orange (with some black and maroon) wool thread, and white and yellow cotton thread. Neck edge finished with red wool blanket stitch embroidery. All other edges bound with cream tabby cotton cloth.

- Text from Eth Doc 1892, no. 39: Made by village women from home produced thick cotton cloth ‘domačno platno’. The panel has embroidered strips on either side of the opening and also on the broad upstanding collar, and the inner edges have a red blanket stitch. The colours are cherry red, plum red, yellow, white, and black. The collar has a pattern of eight diamonds within diamonds, and the panels have slanting lozenges with four smaller lozenges inside. On the outer edges of the panels is a row of triangles.

- Purchased by the donor in the early 1970s in a small commission shop in Bitola. The owner [Ilija] dealt in second hand household goods but also items of costume from families raising money to pay for air tickets to Australia. Many families left for economic reasons.
