A shopping bag. Made from a single twill woven piece of rough goat (?) wool cloth folded in half and overstitched along each selvedge. Predominantly shades of brown, with tones of pink and green stripes in the centre and near the sides. Two leather handles attached to centre top with metal studs. Canvas cloth backing to handles lifting from leather.

- Mrs Dowden has also given three boxes of her husband's 35mm slides, taken during the same visits, to the Department's Pictorial Archive.
Mrs Dowden's hand-written note with the item states: "Box 147 Blue Box. Bosnia and Vojvodina. A shopping bag like this." This refers to a box of the slides in the Pictorial Archive.
