Pendant, copper alloy, made from a silver Maria Theresa 'Thaler' of 1794 from which hang three smaller silver or silver-coloured metal coins: Bulgarian 50 Stotniki of Ferdinand I, dated 1913; French 50 centimes and a Turkish coin bottom centre.

- Mrs Dowden's hand-written note with the item states: "I think this was given to me in Struga".
Similar pendants were worn throughout the former Yugoslavia, on the corsage or as head ornaments, see Ivanka Vrtovec, 'Croatian National Jewelry', Zagreb 1985, p. 74. The head of Ferdinand I on the Bulgarian coin bears the signature F. Schall.
