A square table-mat, very similar to Eu1993,01.46, .47 and .49. Ground made of natural cream cheesecloth (tabby woven). Square-shaped motif embroidered in the centre; worked in red and black cotton yarns. Hemstitching, giving two sizes of openwork, embroidered near all four edges.

Label written by donor: 'Mats made by cottage-industry for souvenir trade in Bosnia. Only the crepe-like weave of the cotton is interesting showing oriental influence. This material is used for blouses'.
