- Curator's comments
- Text from Eth Doc 1836 9entry 130): This rug marks a transition period, i.e. a period when the rugs were no longer woven of wool in natural colours but of dyed yarn. The wide beige stripes are in the natural colour of the wool. They alternate with groups of differently coloured stripes. Later the wide stripes were set in with dyed yarn. The rug is used as a floor cover.
Second half of the 19th century.
