A long rectangular towel, 'mantilia'; made of natural cream cotton, woven with a twill herringbone pattern (weft dominant), 'kiparissoto'. The cream centre field has both twill and tabby woven bands. In the centre is a green band framed by two red bands. Solid bands of colour, predominantly red, and with green, yellow, orange and dark blue, are worked to a depth of 24 cms approx at each end. The warp ends are plied and finished with small red, tassels.
