- Curator's comments
- According to the Braybrooke catalogue, 'Hebrew marriage ring: a third example of this ceremonial ring; of gold, without any ark or tower, but ornamented on the surface of the hoop, which is full three-quarters-of-an-inch wide, with filagree work, without any enamel, and five domes of the same open texture at regular distances from each other. The centre or summit which is generally occupied by the tower, has in its place a large shield in the form of a heart; on this appears the ordinary inscription in Hebrew letters Mausselauf, "Joy be with you," or "Good luck to you, as on 206, supra. Purchased of Mr Baker, Cranbourne Street, May, 1859. - 172grs.'
