Easter egg, shell, dyed brown and then scratched to reveal the design in the white shell of flowers and acorns, with a sun motif on the top end, inscribed in German:' Ein Frohes Osterfest'.

- Illustrated in Newall 1971,col.pl. XIX, p 299. Described by Newall as 'Made by Germans from the Zips area of northern Slovakia.Dyed with onion peel then scratched to reveal the egg beneath'. The Zipser Germans are a German-speaking ethnic group originally from Upper Hungary, now mostly Slovakia.
