Timepiece mantel clock with round dial with enamel chapter ring, gilded central landscape scene in a leather covered wooden case with cast gilt-brass base and decorative moudlings.
Case:
Leather-covered rectangular wooden case with cast gilt-brass base, corner pillars and pierced top section with corner and central finials, red fabirc below top section. Cast gil-brass bezel. Bevelled glass.
Brass back to drum movement (not original) with two winding keys, hand set and regulation aperture.
Dial:
Circular pressed brass dial with cream enamel chaper ring with gothic style arabic hour numerals (1-12). Blued steel spade hour and minute hands. Central pressed brass section having castle, sea, ship, moon and trees with male figure holding lyre.
Movement:
8 day dual-spring timepiece movement, solid movement plates. Open springs.

Another example of BUCC's Reg. Des. 228201 of 28th Feb. 1894 ( as seen in 2014,8038.32 ) except leather is used instead of faux tortoiseshell. This example's compact dual-spring timepiece movement has rarer solid back plate.
