- Curator's comments
- Made by the firm of Articoli Plastici Elettrici in Cologno Monzese, Milan, the Vignelli's stacking dinnerware was one of the most successful products of their design studio. This set of stacking dishes is part of a range of tableware named 'Compact' that was both lightweight and space-saving to store. The range won the Compasso d'Oro prize in 1964, see https://www.adi-design.org/compasso-d-oro.html
In 1971, production moved to America where it was made by Heller Inc, New York.
