- Curator's comments
- This trivet was designed by Jani Martikainen (b. 1971), a Finnish graduate of the University of Art and Design, Helsinki. He worked in Finland and Russia before setting up his own company, Majamoo, in 1998, which produced tableware and accessories. This trivet, based on the organic designs of Alva Aalto, won a prize in Aalto's centenerary competition, held in 1998. It is manufactured using Seamless Wood Technology.
