- Curator's comments
- These vases appear to be rare prototypes. The only reference to them is a sketch by Hopea-Untracht in O. Untracht, 'Saara Hopea-Untracht, Life and Work', Werner Söderström Osakeyhtiö, Helsinki, 1988, p. 72. However, this sketch is labelled, 'Saara's sketches for designs never produced', so it would seem that these vases were an experiment, based on this sketch, which were never put into production.
