- Description
-
Gold jewellery item, probably a clasp for a bracelet or necklace. The face is comprised of four deep circular box-cells, arranged in a diamond formation and alternatively filled with green and blue glass. Four small gold spheres are positioned between the cells, around the outside. A single gold wire is attached to the underside, each end of which is bent back on itself to form the hoops. The terminals of the wire overlap considerably, with one end wrapping up the side of the box-cells. No wear is visible on the hoops, but some damage is visible on the upper surface of the box-cells.

- Curator's comments
- The face is similar in style to several pieces of jewellery from the Thetford Hoard, notably finger-rings 5 and 8, and bracelet 27 (Johns and Potter 1983, figs. 8, 10 and 27 respectively). (B. Crerar).
