Pewter money-box, in the form of a spun flattened sphere with a slot in one side and an inset ebony disc at the top. To open the box, a hemispherical key at the base is turned to slide into a slot so that the ebony lid pops out. The lid is attached to a rod that passes through to the base. Maker's mark on base.
