Dial of a Thirty-Hour Long-case Clock.
Square brass 'cartwheel' dial plate with eight removed segments behind the chapter ring. Four female head spandrels. The applied silvered-brass chapter ring has an outer circle for minutes numbered 0-60 at five-minute intervals surrounding Roman hours I-XII and fleur-de-Lis half-hour marks. Around the inside is a circle divided to quater-hours. The area wiithin the chapter-ring is matted and above VI a square aperture, bordered by a crudely engraved floral design, reveals a silvered-brass wheel beneath, engraved 1-30 for the date. A jumper spring engaging with the date wheel is rivetted to the dial plate. Below XII is a circular aperture which reveals a silvered-brass disc beneath, engraved to show the moon phase a smaller aperture to the right reveals a circle on the same disc numbered 1-29 1/2 to show the moons age. The lunar disc has circular opening which reveals a blued steel plate beneath decorated with gold stars which is progressively revealy as the moon-phase indication changes. On the back are three rivetted dial feet. The maker's name and place are crudely engraved on the chapter ring between the 25 and 35 numerals.

- Curator's comments
- The dial, spandrels and discs are all relatively crudely made.
One of the dial feet has been sawn off.
The dial plate casting is of poor quality and there are rivetted plates at VI and IX to repair cracks.
There is a further split in the plate on the lower left which has not been repaired.
There are a number of small drilled holes around the dial plate which serve no purpose
