Dial False Plate from a Longcase Clock
Rectangular cast iron false-plate with scalloped nibbling around the edges. The whole plate is painted black. The central cast-out aperure has chamfered edges. There are three additional semi-circular cast-outs for winding squares (lower right and left),and for date wheel arbor or third train winding squares (bottom centre).
Three turned brass feet riveted to plate (upper left of centre; lower left and right) for fixing false plate to movement front plate.
Nine holes positioned for possible dial feet (two, upper left; three upper right; two lower left; and two lower right). Two pin holes,(middle left and right).
