Dial False Plate from a Longcase Clock
Rectangular cast iron false-plate with chamfered edges, the whole painted black.
In the centre a rectangular aperture with squared edges. Three additional semi-circular cast-outs for winding squares (lower right and left),and date wheel arbor (bottom centre); There is a rectangular notch (top left). Three turned brass feet riveted to plate (upper centre; lower right and left) for fixing false-plate to movement front plate. Four holes for dial feet (two upper left and right; lower right and left, below false plate feet).
