- Vladimir Zahour trained from 1939-43 at the Glassmaking Trade School, Zeleny Brod and in 1944-50 at The School of Applied Art in Prague under Prof K. Stipl. In 1954 he became a designer and modeller for the Podebrady Glassworks, where he was one of small group of artists who helped to revitalise the Czech glass industry after the war, creating a new range of luxury cut glass mostly for export. This vase is close to models illustrated in 'Czech Glass Review' 1960/61.
