Carriage Clock.
Gold anodised aluminium case with glazed front and side panels. Solid brass rear panel with a screwed-on cover over an aperture which provides access for regulation . On the back a dust cover with a knurled edge which is rotated to reveal the winding and hand-set squares. A hinged handle at the top.
Silvered metal dial with vertical engine-produced stripes. Recessed cahapter ring with an outer coircle for the minutes surrounding hours I-XII. Pierced blued-steel hour and minute hands.
Spring-driven, eight-day movement with rectangular brass plates and four cylindrical pillars.Going barrel with ratchet set-up on the back plate. Five wheel gear train, the wheels with four crossings. Platform lever escapement. Club-tooth lever type with a spiral spring attached to the escape wheel (for 'silent' operation). Spiral steel balance spring, with an index mounted on the balnce cock.
The motion work wheels are mounted inside the front plate.
